Death all around and it’s organic
Possibly the definition of organic
So life is defined by death
Or at any rate that’s how we’re told to define it
So

if life is defined by death what are the corollaries?
One (probably) is a fascination with death
Because

life seems immune to being bidden
comes, sometimes when we call and sometimes
Just because, whether we want it to or not –
And sometimes we wish more than life itself
For death to stay away from us so life
Has room to grow

careened	today
depression	smell
nonsense	holes
simple	desire
continue	taller
richer	but
eradicate	smell again
how long

we take for granted
then

That life will come unbidden, whether we want it to or not
But this is wrong and here our argument goes astray
Far from the truth
Far from angel voices speaking pleasure instead of pain
Far from understanding the other side.

the antithesis
Life is all around and it’s organic
Possibly the definition of organic
So

death is defined as lack of life
Therefor life becomes defined as full, abundant
And death becomes metaphorically linked to lack

The boundaries of experience
We like to keep the taste of death in our mouths
A constant reminder that we are alive
The problems with this particular addiction
Are many and their effects legion
Instead of concentrating the mind
On what it is to be alive, on our actual state of being
We are continually tempted to taste the death that is coming
The death that might come
The death that will come whether and when we like it or not
All our studies are centered on death
We don’t have stone buildings and monuments high
Above the city commemorating events that brought

Forth more life in people
We have monuments to those who were adept
Communicating with death
Granted

they were pushing their own death away
But

you must grant, in turn, that they were also

Engendering death on others
The end sum being pretty much in favor of more dead
Rather than more life
Because

I think you can’t count as promoting life
The babies born of rape during pillage and burning
Because

although these babies carry life within them
They are forged from death and fear and rage and they
Carry these forward
And these people are the legions of the damned
Now

let’s get really particular for a moment, very domestic, ok?
Let’s admit that many children of the rich and famous are born
From fear, and death and rage and in the midst of pillage and burn
From a rape
Let’s admit that many children of the middle class are conceived
In rage and fear and in the shadow of death, and during rape
Continuing on, let’s not ignore those children of the plebes, the
Petit bourgeois, and the bohemians, the gypsies, the jews, they too
Were conceived in fear, many in rape, in the shadow of death
And worse

most of these children were not only conceived in this state of rage
They were raised up in an environment that glorified death and promoted
Their anger calling it motivation for successful competition
This is the norm
This is the center of the curve
