An Intrinsic Exquisite

I take pleasure in physical forms of ecstasy
even though sometimes I get dizzy

I take pleasure from the sounds of my children singing
I take pleasure in a kiss, a dance, a meal, a book

I refuse the pleasure of humiliating others
I do not permit myself the pleasure of addiction

I reject the pleasures of cruelty
and unfortunately allow myself the pleasure of contempt for those who forfeit
the sweet pleasures for the cruel and inhumane
