Introduction

Did you know the entire population of the world can fit within the city limits of Jacksonville, Florida?

But many people are still concerned about overpopulation of the planet. In order to survive, people need more than room.

Think about the things you need in order to live: food, shelter, water, air, clothes... Ranches that produce food, farms that produce textiles (clothes), lakes that produce water, and forests that produce clean air all require space. Just how many people can the world hold?

You have probably seen or visited crowded cities as well as wide-open fields. Some places are crowded while others seen vacant.

Some countries are starving for resources while others are wealthy. Is population a problem? Everywhere? Some places?

Maybe you can help answer some of these questions.
