United States of America

There are approximately 273 million people living in the United States: 70 million children, 168 million working-age adults (18-64), and 35 million persons over age 65.

The U.S. population has been increasing at an alarming rate as approximately 23 million people have been added to the U.S. population during the last 10 years.

There are many who believe the population problem in the U.S. is not one of overcrowding but of over-consumption of resources.

It has been estimated that the U.S. has 5% of the world's population, yet consumes 25% of its resources.

Many believe that our environment is in grave danger because of this over-consumption by human beings, especially those in the developed nations like the U.S.
