Ranting Mode

It's all very well to talk about peace but what happens when one is being threatened? Can ongoing humiliating interactions be healed? Is there a way to intervene in an ill interaction to guide it into a healthy experience? I don't accept the Gandhian model of passive resistance, it reminds me too much of the passive aggressive pathologies that reinforce the threat/humiliation matrix.

I don't believe that one person or even one group of people could ever find a solution to a global problem - so what can an individual do? What contribution can one group make to the development of solutions that are viable for experimentation?

We think we are doing it here. We get together and we work heuristically, creatively, what is the difference between working logically and analytically versus working creatively and heuristically? What can logic do? It can take from existing systems, break down systems and rebuild. What can creative heuristics do? It can originate new forms to respond to new conditions, reorient systems, regrow.

There is this pressure to make the entire system support the support system. In other words, the militaristic self defense mode is a necessary social function that is properly in a support role, suporting the whole of a society - but in our culture the military-industrial complex (as we used to call it) is served by every one of us in every aspect of our lives. This is victimization of life.

The social world has to develop in self-confidence to the degree that we can integrate all our aspects, incorporate them without being subsumed by them. This is the issue of - the integration of disparate entities. Diversity studies dedicates itself to explore issues affecting healthy integrative social possibilities.
