Evaluation

You will be assessed for your performance on this project in 4 categories. You can earn up to four points in each category. There are 16 possible points, each group will receive a score ranging from 4 to 16.

A description of the point assignments in each category follows.

1. Project Completion:

(4 Points) Project includes all pieces of the project; the visual representation of population growth, oral presentation, and answers to general questions and country-specific questions. The presentations are reasonable and coherent without major gaps in logic or flow.

(3 Points) Project includes all components of the project, but one or more pieces may have small problems. Conclusions are logical, but may omit some information.

(2 Points) Project contains all components, but demonstrates significant errors. Conclusions are unreasonable or show no logical support.

(1 Point) One or more of the project components are absent.

2. Visual Representation of Population:

(4 Points) Graph is easy to read and contains all the requested information. The chart contains a reasonable prediction of the country's population growth. Graph is neat and visually pleasing.

(3 Points) Graph presents the country's population data and reasonably predicts the population growth, but may be untidy or difficult to interpret.

(2 Points) Graph shows the country's population history and predicts its growth, but the chart does not match the countryÕs data or the prediction of population growth is unreasonable.

(1 Point) Graph does not include all components (50 years of population history, and 10 years of future predicted population).

3. Oral Presentation:

(4 Points) Presenters are confident and well prepared. The presentation is easy to understand and follows a coherent outline. Presentation stays within any requested time limits.

(3 Points) Presenters are prepared, the presentation follows a coherent outline, but the presentation is too long or too short.

(2 Points) Presenters are prepared, but may be difficult to understand. The presentation follows a prepared outline, but the outline may not follow a logical order, or may omit important facts.

(1 Point) Presenters are unprepared and follow no outline.

4. Questions and Conclusions:

(4 Points) Project answers all questions posed in the task. All conclusions are reasonable and supported by research.

(3 Points) Project answers all questions posed in the task, but some answers may be unreasonable or unsupported by research.

(2 Points) Project attempts to answer all questions included in the task, but no conclusions are supported by research.

(1 Point) Project fails to answer all of the questions posed in the task.
