CHILD ABUSE
Definition of Emotional Child
Abuse
Emotional abuse is the chronic attitude and acts of
a caretaker which involve verbal and non-verbal violence toward
a child, sending the child a message that he/she is bad.
Examples of verbal abuse are belittling or name-calling.
Examples of non-verbal abuse are withholding love and affection
and treating the child differently than other children in the family.
