Step 1: First, you will be assigned to a team of 3 students. Each team member should select a separate role from among the following to represent his or her country:

a) The Environmentalist (concerned with impact of population growth on natural resources and global environment)
b) The Social Scientist (concerned with social and religious issues in relation to population growth and control)
c) The Government Leader (concerned with policy and legislation--attempts to balance the interests of the Environmentalist and the Humanitarian)

You and your team members are the experts in your respective fields who will be conducting research and presenting a report on population trends for a particular country to the U.N.

Each team member will be analyzing the research data from his specific expert perspective. Your team should collaborate and come to a consensus about the population issues in your country so that the presentation will be cohesive, yet representative of diverse viewpoints.
